Ever since I can remember I’ve had a passion for travel. Wondering what “other” places were like, and who were the people that live there. As I’ve gotten older, it’s not just the traveling that intrigues me, it’s the history and culture that goes along with it. What would it have been like to live here a 1000 years ago? What did this shell of a castle look like before it crumbled? What were the lives like of the people who lived here so long ago? For me, traveling isn’t just about the location, but the history as well.

Throughout my life I’ve had the privilege of traveling to many places within our country, and other countries. Each time a new trip is planned, I get this giddiness and excitement that is hard to contain. The more I research the location the harder it is to refrain from extending the trip. Reign it in Ang!

My first memorable trip was to Colorado when I was in the 6th grade. Seeing the Rocky Mountains for the first time blew my mind and I couldn’t wait to go back.

My first trip across the pond was in high school. My French teacher hosted a three week trip to France and she brought along a handful of students. It was the first time I had been out of the country, and in a place where the primary language was not English. It was scary and exciting all at the same time. We toured the country, saw some spectacular sights (so much history!) and each of us stayed with a different host family for one week to fully immerse ourselves in the culture. This was the trip that ignited my passion for travel!

Since then I’ve been back to France two more times, England, Hawaii, Caribbean Islands and numerous cruises on Holland America, Royal Caribbean, Celebrity and Carnival. For anyone who has a fear of being “stuck” on a ship, let me tell you about all the great times I had on them.

I have to share that I am SO excited for my next BIG adventure this Fall. I am fulfilling my childhood dream of going on a two week African Safari!! This is a trip I have dreamed about since I was a child watching Mutual of Omaha and other nature shows on Saturday mornings. It took a while, but it is a literal dream come true. I will have many pictures to share when I return.
